Biography​

Shawn Bugbee has been deeply rooted in the Northern Maine Fair for most of his life, beginning as a teenager helping with truck and tractor pulling, then the Lumberjack Roundup, and now as vice president of the Fair. He joined the Fair's board of directors in 2011 and has served as superintendent of the Forest Resource Building, where he championed the creation of the Lil Lumberjacks at the Fair exhibit — a world-class, hands-on forestry education experience for children that earned three national awards at the 2023 IAFE convention, including the Overall Judges Choice Award. Shawn also serves as chairman of the Fair's Lumberjack Roundup, which he has helped build into a premier competitive lumberjack event run largely through sponsorships and community support.

Professionally, Shawn is a Maine Licensed Forester and owner of Cedar Springs Forestry, LLC, a consulting forestry business. A member of the Society of American Foresters and a director of the Ashland Logging Museum.  Shawn is passionate about promoting Maines forest products industry and agricultural heritage. He lives in Mapleton with his family on the family homestead, where they produce maple syrup and grow Christmas trees.
